July 1: improvised singing of old poetry
now that i’m thinking about music again after a bit of a break, i want to make this site a place that is interesting to come to on a regular basis.. so i might just start posting bits and pieces. since there’s no such thing as a b-side anymore, i’m gonna make this my little personal b-side space.this is me improvising a melody to an old poem written in 1999. the location of the recording is in the big echoey space where i recorded most of the new album, in beautiful raglan.

December 12: NEW SINGLE - SCALES!
Do you find yourself feeling bogged down by self-made pressure?
Do you find yourself not wanting to do the things you love the most?
Putting things off, waiting for a perfect moment?

It’s called Scales.

June 14: end-of-an-era
thanks to all who came to roasted addiqtion on friday, including swampy tonk (you guys were awesome!). it felt really nice to play a chronological set of songs. over the next few months, i am going to be incubating a new sound. i’ll be recording for album number 2, and figuring out how best to present it live when that time comes. so, for now, thank you to everyone that has come to any of the shows throughout the ‘behind the i’ phase. it’s been 2 years since the release, so it’s well and truly time for me to explore into something new. thank you extra heaps to all the amazing musicians who have helped to realise these songs with me throughout this period… rachel wells, dylan storey, steve thomas, brendan turner, caitlin smith, reb fountain, bond street bridge, charmaine ford. you guys have taught me a lot, and helped me grow a lot, and i am much indebted. peace. andy

just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone that was at my set at camp a low hum, it was really magic - everyone was so unstuck. and another big thank you to everyone who came along to zoo music… a very beautiful, enriching evening. i’m especially pleased that i got the chance to have a really deep, late-night conversation with a cockatoo on my way out - ‘hello captain’.
big love.
